The Bear's Nest Package Deals
This year to make it more affordable and convenient for our guests, purchasing a package deal, as opposed to renting the cabins only*, will save you money all the way around on your visit to Gustavus.
* All packages include:
1) Pick up and delivery to and from airport or anywhere in Gustavus proper. (Pick-ups at Glacier Bay Park will be extra.)
2) Free breakfast food (you cook) provided in your cabin.
3) Your choice of lunch at our café or a bag lunch to go.
4) Dinner at our café, which includes: soup, salad, bread and your choice from our menu, (one main dish per person, anything you like!) plus a desert. (Prices do not include tip, drinks, beer and wine) and, a 15% gratuity will be added to the meal portion of your package!
5) We offer kid's (dinner plates) and lunches. Try to find that anywhere else!

* Many of you are coming to take the tour boat up Glacier Bay or taking one of the kayak trips. If you have purchased any packages that provide you with an included lunch, remember, you will still need transportation, to and from the airport, breakfast, and a place to eat dinner and you will need lunch when you leave. Those who purchase packages and do not receive a lunch on your arrival date, you will receive a lunch on your departure date. As far as we know, there will be no cafés in Gustavus proper, including ours, serving breakfast this year.
We provide you with a basket of food, of your choice, and you have full kitchen facilities in your cabin to prepare the food.
* You may still want the peace of mind, knowing, a taxi will be waiting for you when you arrive and when you need to get back to the airport upon departing, knowing you have fresh ground coffee and breakfast foods in your cabin, "full kitchens", and knowing, that when you get in from your long day of having fun, you'll have a table reserved for you at our café with unbelievably delicious food and decadent deserts, "Anything on the menu", already paid for, Except 15% gratuity!
Our packages offer you the convenience of having it all taken care of without being overcharged.
* This little village gets busy in the summer time and we are making every effort to assure your vacation doesn't turn into a bummer. Our guests will never have to wait for transportation, are guaranteed dinner reservations, receive free breakfast food, free courtesy bicycles, maps of Gustavus and personal service you will not get at a lodge.
* If you prefer NOT to purchase the package you may rent the cabins alone and arrange your own meals and transportation but be aware food is very expensive here and who wants to cook on vacation? A gallon of Milk is over Nine dollars here, a loaf of bread is 4.50, a bag of chips can cost over five dollars. Be prepared to give up your first born to shop for food in Gustavus! We have lived here 18 years and don't shop here. We travel a lot all over and know how one or two days in a strange place can either be wonderful or a real drag. We'll make it a breeze for you! And our food is Real food from a real garden. Unfrozen fish from local fishermen and no crappy canned soups loaded with chemicals. Our soups are made from scratch each and every day and I bet you'll be asking Lynne for her recipe for her salad dressing. It is only available at the Bear's Nest Cafe.
